In 2002, a study on some 16,000 women by the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) to address the most common causes of death, disability and poor quality of life of postmenopausal women, revealed a link between the long-term use of hormone therapy such as estrogen and progestin to increased risks of stroke, blood clots, and certain cancers, and led the National Institute of Health (NIH) to halt parts of the ongoing observation, in the name of participants’ health safety. Consequently, in the decade following, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) saw a sharp decline in sales, and a menacingly pall lingered over the menopausal market – where women continue to seek a safe and effective treatment for a host of menopausal symptoms including hot flashes, vaginal dryness, sleeplessness, fatigue, dizziness, nervousness, joint discomfort, and menopause-related blues, among others. As a response to this unfulfilled demand, Dr Jae Kim selected three specific herbs; the Phlomis umbrosa, Cynanchum wilfordii, and Angelica gigas Nakai (Korean Angelica) – botanicals with more than 400 years of documented usage in east Asia, from 71 botanical extracts via E-screen tests for menopausal symptom effectiveness and developed a natural hot-water extracted blend – the EstroG-100. Scientifically proven by three double-blind, placebo-controlled human clinical trials – the first of which was conducted at Korea’s top hospital for OB/GYN, Samsung Jeil hospital, this formula went on to dominate the South Korean menopausal market before receiving the Gold medal award at Geneva’s International Invention Conference in 2009, the Chang-Young Sil award (top scientific award in Korea), as well as the South Korea Presidential award as top nutritional product exported overseas. Validated by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) guidelines, EstroG-100 entered the US market, where it was awarded the best new botanical ingredient in the USA by the Nutritional Business Journal.Said Michael Jeffers, CEO of Helios Corp – partner to EstroG-100, ‘I’m surprised by how fast EstroG-100 takes effects,’ citing testimonials by users that the herbal remedy can reap noticeable improvements in as few as 7 to 14 days – six times faster than other alternatives, including the black cohosh. Further, standard 4 week and 13 week toxicity tests showed that EstroG-100 does not reap any side effects such as liver toxicity, weight gain, bleeding or any estrogenic consequences. EstroG-100 also tested negative for carcinogenicity.
According to Jeffers, who has been a key player in the food, nutrition and pharmaceutical categories for over three decades, EstroG-100 remains the only naturally produced menopausal solution in the market backed by no less than three published human clinical studies, including one performed at a hospital in Orange County, California. While a majority of South Korean consumers already adhere to EstroG-100, this formula is steadily garnering interests among US counterparts. To date, EstroG-100 is available at most Wholefoods, Walgreens, CVS, or directly from www.EstroG100.com *.
