2015 Fall/ Winter CollectionBy Wesley Sin
MANGO at Queens Crossing hosted a fashion event on Friday September 18th to showcase MANGO’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection. As a part of New York Fashion Week, this event began with a runway show featuring MANGO’s newest “70’s Revival” collection inspired by the styles of 70’s music icons and was followed by an in-store party with complimentary open bar, refreshments and the #SOMETHINGINCOMMON photo booth.
In the Fall/Winter 2015 collection, MANGO translated the sounds and themes of the 70’s into their new designer clothes. Leather coats, bell-bottom trousers, dresses and flowing blouses are a few of many appearances on the catwalk that draw inspiration from female music icons such as Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Patti Smith and Blondie. The MANGO Man collection is also looking back and reinventing the trends of pure British rock style. The whole show included three different sections: “Love, Peace & Hippies”, “Keep on Truckin’ “and “Get Down, or, Boogie!”. Each section showed a different style of the 70’s including hippies, street look and disco chic.
The event was attended by renowned models, singers, actors and fashion bloggers. Super models, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne, also joined forces again for MANGO’s campaign. “It’s so great to be working with MANGO again, they are such a fresh and modern brand. Cara and I always have fun together and you really can see that in this campaign” said Kate. MANGO also launched a mobile photo app #SOMETHINGINCOMMON with Kate and Cara. Fashion lovers can use this app to share “Something in Common” with their friends and celebrities on social media and get the chance to be featured on MANGO’s official website.
