A True Luxury Domestic Journey from American Airlines

The flight from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX) or to San Francisco (SFO) may take about 5 to 6 hours and it can be exhausting for passengers who sit for that long a time. Wouldn’t it be great if you could really lie down on such a long journey? It has now come true with American Airlines new aircraft A321T, where passengers can really enjoy a domestic luxury journey. On Dec 17th 2013, American Airlines presented its new Airbus aircraft A321 Transcontinental at New York’s JFK airport. Jim Carter, vice-president of the Eastern sales division of American Airlines, categorized this new aircraft under the heading of comfortable and connected. As for comfortable, the A321T offers fully lie-flat First and Business Class seats. As for staying connected, the aircraft is served with in-flight Wi-Fi by Gogo’s upgraded air-to-ground technology (ATG-4) throughout the aircraft to allow passengers the ability to stay connected in-flight with each seat equipped with one universal AC power outlet and USB jack. With A321T, American Airlines will be the only domestic carrier to offer a three-class configuration (First, Business, and Main Cabin) between New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX), and between New York (JFK) and San Francisco (SFO), providing a valuable benefit to premium customers.
The schedule between JFK and LAX, A321T will start serving on January 7th 2014, with 5 frequencies a day out of 10 by January 15th 2014, 8 frequencies out of 10 by February 12th 2014 , and totally 13 frequencies by June 10th 2014. For the Flight schedule between JFK and SFO, there will be 2 frequencies a day out of 4 on March 7th 2014, and totally 5 frequencies by June 11th 2014 using the new A321T.
The First Class cabin onboard the A321T features 10 fully lie-flat seats with 43 inch pitch in the upright position. The 1-1 configuration ensures that each passenger travelling in First Class will have aisle access. The Business Class cabin is outfitted with 20 fully lie-flat seats arranged in a 2-2 configuration. With inflight dining, American enhances with premium food and beverage service featuring new entrees, appetizers, salads, and desserts. An espresso and cappuccino machine will also be available for First Class customers onboard. Business Class customers can choose from the same suite of entrée and appetizer selections as First Class customers.
For customers traveling in the premium class cabins, a complimentary inflight entertainment selection of up to 200 movies, up to 180 TV programs, more than 350 audio selections and up to 20 games is available on a 15.4-inch HD-capable tilting touchscreen monitor positioned in each seat. Both First and Business Class customers will be offered complimentary ear buds.
The Main Cabin is outfitted with 36 Main Cabin Extra seats in a 3-3 configuration with a 35 inch pitch, and 36 Main Cabin seats arranged in a 3-3 configuration with a 31 inch pitch. The Main Cabin extra seats also offer customers up to 6 inches of additional legroom, allowing for greater personal space and convenient access when boarding and deplaning. Main Cabin Extra customers also receive early boarding privileges.
American Airlines has been serving in New York area for over 80 years and in New York JFK airport since 1948. The merger with U.S Airways in early December 2013 has made the network of the company even stronger. The new fantastic aircraft A321T is expected to provide a more pleasant and luxury domestic journey for customers, and open another new chapter of a more modernized American Airlines.
