The Red Dot Restaurant

The Red Dot Restaurant is the oldest continually operating Restaurant and Bar in Hudson, NY. As a testament to their commitment to the community over the past 20 years, Red Dot has hosted and supported a large number of events and parties, fundraisers, weddings and birthday parties, Halloween parties, News Year’s Eve celebrations, and so much more.

Many Red Dot patrons, including some of us here at Asian Fusion, rave about the wonderful dining experience they’ve had at Red Dot. Our top menu picks include the Tuna Tartare, the Calamari, the Mussels Marniere & Frites in white wine, shallots, garlic and parsley broth. Wm. Farmer & Sons

Wm. Farmer & Sons is known for its gorgeous space, beautiful dining room, and rustic menu. It’s a rustic/chic type of place that serves farm-to-table fare along with craft cocktails. Each week, you’re likely to find subtle changes in their menus, based on what’s coming in fresh to the kitchen, or perhaps just sounding extra delicious to their Chef. Otherwise, you can pretty well rely on regular favorites, the best seasonal specials, brilliant cocktails and endless sippin’ spirits, along with classic and local beer & wine selections. If your time is tight, and you may only have an hour (or two), be sure to make it to their Happy Hour. And be sure to indulge yourself with their $1 Fresh Oyster Happy Hour. Tanzy’s is the perfect place to start your day in Hudson. A cozy tearoom owned by two sisters, Tanzy’s serves up breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. Having experienced the food and hospitality of Tanzy’s myself, I can honestly say everything I’ve eaten here has been well prepared and served with love…. seriously, the two sisters who run this place are so good at making you feel welcome! You’ll want to come here for the perfectly cooked eggs and the best home fries ever. But they also always have interesting daily specials and homemade soups. Dominick’s Cafe

Dominick’s Cafe is located in beautiful, historic uptown Kingston, just blocks from NY State Thruway Exit 19. Whether you are looking for a cappuccino, a great panini, or fresh pasta and meatballs, great food awaits you at Dominick’s Cafe. Known for it’s hearty, good food, and a decor of exposed brick, hardwood floors, and high ceilings, you’ll enjoy great food while feeling you’ve been transported back in time. Dominick’s friendly staff will make sure your visit is both comfortable and satisfying. Soups and salads come highly recommended, but the eggs and home fries are one of our favorites! Mariner’s Harbor

One of our favorite family-friendly dining destinations located on the Roundout waterfront in the Hudson Valley is Mariner’s Harbor. It’s seafood, lobsters, steak, and raw bar are very popular, and can be enjoyed (weather-permitting) in their outdoor dining area and bar. Mariner’s Harbor is located at the foot of Broadway on the Historic Rondout Creek, directly in front of the Kingston City Marina. You may arrive by car, by boat, or by foot. For over 30 years, Mariner’s Harbor restaurant has been known for their fresh live Maine lobster and seafood, and offer a variety of foods from steaks to salads to satisfy every palate. Their chefs cook with locally sourced foods, creating a menu that is unique to the Hudson Valley. The must-try item on the menu, hands-down, is their “Mariner’s Delight”: Shrimp, scallops, baked stuffed clams. crabmeat stuffed sole, oven broiled with Prosecco Burrell Blanc. Ship to Shore

Ship to Shore has been a staple to local diners in the Kingston area since 1998. A new menu, cocktail list, and wine list is introduced with each new season. This might be the perfect time to stop in and see for yourself why Ship to Shore is always bustling with a steady stream of customers, both new and old, taking advantage of the bounty of the Hudson Valley. While Ship to Shore continues to add to their already evolving menus, we’d like to mention a few standouts, including the Grilled Crab Meat Stuffed Octopus, New Zealand Lamb Lollipops, Lobster and Crab Ravioli, and the Romano Crusted Chicken Breast. If you’re looking for great comfort food down by the waterfront, you won’t want to miss this place! Sidewalk Bistro

Since opening in 2008, Piermont’s Sidewalk Bistro has become a favorite destination of locals and river town visitors alike. Sidewalk Bistro’s customers are like family, their friendly, accommodating staff strives to make you feel welcome as you enjoy classic French bistro dishes, prepared with care and finesse. Your French bistro experience in Piermont would not be complete without outdoor seating. Rock da Casbah

A fun vibe and friendly staff, plus live music performances, makes Rock da Casbah the place you’ll want to stop by and grab a bite when you’re in Saugerties. With menu items like Fleetwood Mac & Cheese, Springsteen roll, Pesto Palooza Pasta, and Magic Mushrooms, you just know this is gonna be good! A vegan-friendly menu, we highly recommend both the Mushroom soup and Coconut Curry soup to start you off. Along with great tapas and a nice selection of draft beers (at least 16!), Rock da Casbah is known for its ‘cool vibe’, friendly bartenders, and lively atmosphere. Gigi Trattoria

Mediterranean fare in a modern and convivial ambiance is what Gigi Trattoria is all about. Here you’ll enjoy classic and innovative dishes featured on our menus. Since opening in 2001, Gigi Trattoria’s mission has been centered on using the freshest and finest local ingredients. The close relationships they’ve cultivated with neighboring farmers and food artisans make Gigi’s dishes uniquely “Hudson Valley Mediterranean”.
