Grilling season is officially here, and Alcance Winery and Arcanum will help you put together the perfect grilling party to celebrate the season. All you’ll need is a bottle of 2015 Alcance Chardonnay, your choice of a gourmet spice rub (available at Dean & Deluca) Tenuta di Arceno Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and a bottle of 2014 il fauno di Arcanum.

Begin your party, while at the same time easing into grilling mode, by opening the bottle of 2015 Alcance Chardonnay.  Do this while at the same time you apply the gourmet spice rub and olive oil to your steak, brisket, pork ribs, or chicken. The olive oil comes from Tenuta di Arceno’s 2,500 acre estate in the heart of Tuscany. While it is available only at the Tuscan estate, your favorite extra-virgin olive oil will certainly do just fine.  The Alcance Chardonnay is from Valle de Itata in Chile, and is perfect for sunny days that you find yourself tending to the grill, or enjoying afternoons with family and friends.  Harvested 100% by hand, the Chardonnay is fermented in traditional oak barrels of very fine grain.

Once the grilling is complete, pop the cork on the 2014 il fauno di Arcanum wine from the Tuscany region in Italy.  You’ll see it is a rich and complex Merlot and Cabernet Franc – a super Tuscan expression produced at Tenuta de Arceno, where select vineyards of the bountiful estate are planted and benefit from superb sun exposure and sandy clay soils. Arcanum pairs extremely well with freshly charcoal-grilled red meats.  The spicy/smoky/sweet blend of the barbecue rub complements the wine’s vivid complexity with notes of wild raspberries, cherry pie and spicy pepper.

Tenuta di Arceno is located in the southernmost corner of the Chianti Classico region between the cities of Sienna and Florence.  The sprawling estate dates back to the time of the Etruscans, and offers diverse soils, mesoclimates and elevations that allow Sangiovese and Bordeaux varieties to thrive.  Additionally, a limited amount of extra virgin olive oil is produced from the Frantoio, Leccino, and Moraiolo olives grown on the estate.  For more information, be sure to visit: and

Alcance began in Chile in the 1990’s, in the remote, cool region of Valle de Maule.  Built around two estate vineyards, Alcance produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenere, Vigno (old-vine Carignan) and Bravura, the winery’s signature Bordeaux blend.  Sourced from mature blocks farmed for low yields, the wine is fermented in small lots to preserve the essence of the soil resulting in beautifully complex and balanced wines.
