Hennessy X.O Lunar New Year Celebration
Hennessy’s Lunar New Year event, “East Meets West”, took place Wednesday evening at DaDong Restaurant in Manhattan’s Bryant Park. It was an exciting event celebrating the encounter of two cultures, “East meets West”, traditions and savoir fare. Asian Fusion was thrilled to be a part of a beautiful evening, and a fun and exciting event.
Hennessy X.O.’s “East meets West” theme celebrated Hennessy’s rich history and connection with the Chinese community. This celebration included the unveiling of a colorful and vibrant “East meets West” design by Chinese artist Shan Jiang. His artwork depicts Lunar New year celebrations with modern takes on traditional symbols like ships, dogs, fairies, flying wishing lanterns, peonies, and fireworks.
The evening tastefully married traditional rituals with contemporary elements like an LED Chinese dragon performance by Modern Gypsies, and a fan dance by I AM GLOBAL, bringing Hennessy’s East meets West” thematic to life.
The menu for the event included Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs, Song Shu Crispy Whole Fish, Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, and a DaDong signature dish, “Su Bu Ni” Roast Duck.
The after-party, held on another level at DaDong, featured Chinese performance artist and DJ Alice Longyu Gao, spinning an incredible selection of music, which kept the after-dinner crowd bustin’ moves and celebrating the evening with Hennessy XO.
