New Rooftop Bar Opens in Flushing

By Mei Lin

Flushing’s first craft cocktail bar opened back in August, and already the word is out that Leaf Bar and Lounge got it right! A refreshing rooftop gem with a well-stocked bar, Leaf Bar and Lounge is located on the top floor of the Hyatt Hotel at One Fulton Square in Flushing. Offering great views of Citifield, a panoramic view of not only Queens, but also the Manhattan skyline off in the distance, this chic Hyatt Place rooftop venue offers craft cocktails along with chef Henry Lin’s inspired menu of Taiwanese small plates. The appetizer-style dishes include salt and pepper popcorn chicken, scallion beef pancake, a slider trio, and Tempura shrimp and vegetables, to name just a few of the menu offerings. One menu selection you simply shouldn’t pass up is the authentic Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup, perfect for when you’ve come here not only with friends, but also a hearty appetite. Leaf Bar and Lounge’s cocktails are named, and they look like they came straight out of a speakeasy, and they taste like it, too! They also offer a wide variety of whiskeys and wines, and their sangria tastes absolutely amazing.

Todd Leong, owner of Leaf Bar and Lounge, proudly stated that only top wines, selected spices, and fresh fruit cocktail are exclusive ingredients used when making Leaf Bar cocktails. With this in mind, we recommend ‘Bai Jiu, I think she’s got it’, a unique mix of kaffir lime-washed HKB Baijiu, Pama Liquer, arugula water, Makrut lime, lemongrass syrup, and fresh lemon. Each cocktail possesses a totally different flavor profile, and is perfectly balanced.

Helen Lee, Executive Vice President of F&T Group, said “There has been no comparable rooftop bar in Queens, that compares to what you can find in Manhattan. We are very pleased that Leaf Bar and Lounge can be opened at the Hyatt Regency hotel on the top floor. Not only to enhance the overall image of the hotel, but also to allow customers to experience upscale Flushing taste, along with a unique and memorable evening of our nightlife culture.”

Exceptional views, outdoor heat lamps, and craft beers, along with Taiwanese-Asian-American snacks with lively music and well-designed interiors are the theme at Leaf Bar and Lounge. The space is beautiful and the couches are quite comfortable. The service is pleasant and attentive, without being in the way. It’s a nice, new addition to the ever-expanding Flushing area. This is one of the most convenient rooftop bars in Flushing, and the view speaks for itself. Leaf Bar and Lounge is sure to exceed all your expectations about a rooftop bar. You just might even forget that you’re in Flushing!
