Macy’s Welcomes Chef Kristin Kish
Provided by Macy’s
As part of Macy’s Herald Square continuing celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, the infamous department store welcomed Chef Kristin Kish along with blogger Olivia Mesquita for a meet-and-greet, photo op, and inspiring conversation on Wednesday, May 10th and hosted by Michelle Park. Following the discussion with Kish, Macy’s hosted a Korean night market reception that included local Asian cuisine sampling, skin care tips, Korean art, and music.
Chef Kish competed on Bravo’s Top Chef in 2012. She made it into the main competition by surviving a soup challenge judged by Emeril Lagasse. She won four elimination challenges, creating dishes as varied as French cuisine and onion rings, before being eliminated during “Restaurant Wars”. She was able to cook her way back into the main competition with five wins in “Last Chance Kitchen”, making it to the finale with Brooke Williamson. In the finale, Kish was crowned the Top Chef, becoming the first competitor to win after winning “Last Chance Kitchen” and the second female winner in the history of the Top Chef franchise.
Guests also had the opportunity to meet with blogger and photographer, Olivia Mesquita, from www.oliviascuisine.com, for some social media tips and a food blog tutorial.
