Taiwan in Times Square
Hope to see you in Times Square on December 2nd!By Joe Meny
The Taiwan Tourism Bureau in New York announced its collaboration with Tiger Party to bring Taiwan into Times Square through the “Join Hearts” campaign. In the campaign, New Yorkers and Taiwanese nationals will interact with each other through live-streaming on billboards in Times Square and Taipei. The interaction is simply showing heart-shaped gestures simultaneously. The campaign will be held on December 2nd, from 10am – 1pm., in Times Square at Military Island, right in front of the ABC SuperSign. The billboard in Times Square will then play a short film showcasing the beauty of Taiwan.
Participants in this truly unique campaign who use hashtag (#TaiwanHeartofAsia) to share their photos or videos on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook could win a roundtrip ticket to Taiwan.
If you are unable to participate in the event, you can log on to https://TaiwanTourism.Guide and play an interactive game with another player in Taiwan.
Both #TaiwanHeartofAsia and #ShowYourHeart participants will be entered into a drawing to win New York-Taipei roundtrip tickets. The post that gets the most likes will win a round-trip ticket to Taiwan as well.
Deputy Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, Brian Su stated the mission of the campaign is to offer New Yorkers and international tourists in Times Square a glimpse of Taiwan, and familiarize the world with the brand image, “Taiwan – The Heart of Asia”.
Claire Chia Szu Wen, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau New York Office Let everyone know what an outstanding year 2016 was for Taiwan’s tourism industry, with visitor arrivals topping 10 million.
