What’s the hottest affair in September in New York City? It’s surely
Fashion! Fashion! Fashion! The fashion industry’s finest, and the celebrities and fashion addicts who love them, descend on Lincoln Center from September 5-13, 2012. The shows are currently sponsored by Mercedes-Benz so all together they are referred to as “Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week”. All of the hottest designers are showing their Spring 2013 collections to celebrities and fashionistas in the tents, including BCBG, Tommy Hilfiger, Jill Stuart, Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren, and so many more. This time there are more fresh Asian faces than ever before joining the event; designers like Parkchoonmoo; Son Jung Wan; Qingqing Wu; Bibhu Mohapatra…
These Fashion shows are attended by journalists, editors, buyers, celebrities and social types. The Fashion Week shows are invitation-only and each fashion designer is responsible for the guest list. New Yorkers can also party with Fashion Week designers and Fashion icons during New York Fashion Week and score some great bargains at Fashion’s Night Out events around the City on September 6th.
Fashion’s Night Out began in 2009 as a means to encourage consumers to shop and support the fashion industry during the tough economic climate. This year, hundreds of New York City retailers will host events and sales featuring free goodies, hot deals, and celebrity sightings. Matchbox Twenty signed autographs for fans at Bloomingdale’s on 59th, Maybelline models posed with shoppers from the Meatpacking District up through midtown.
In NYC, the most fancy and cosmopolitan city, Fashion Week and Fashion’s Night Out are the two must-do things you simply can’t miss if you love fashion.
