Spring Issue 2013 Editor’s letter

Okay Asian Fusion readers, fasten your seatbelts…Spring has arrived! We want to salute each of you, and wish to thank American Airlines for letting us be the guest pilot as we witness the unveiling of their brand new CIS and logo.

We also want to wish everyone a great Year of the Snake, and that it brings you a happy healthy and bright future.

In this issue, we are thrilled to fly with American Airlines as we cross the Pacific Ocean on our way to Japan and team up with Japan Airlines as we continue our amazing journey. We capture the natural beauty of Taketomi Island, and hope you your stay as much as we did!

Also in our Spring Issue, Americana Manhasset turns their camera lens towards Vietnam bringing their fashion focus across the globe from west to east, creating an exotic fashion scene that you don’t want to miss!

An easy one-stop destination this past winter was the New York Times Travel show at the Jacob Javits Center, where, all under one roof, we got to see the best of Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, Korea, and so many other exotic and beautiful Asian travel destinations.

Spring in New York City is sure to mean one thing: new fashions! As always, we had a front row seat and are happy to share with you the hottest Asian designers, and the latest trends that strutted their stuff during NY Fashion Week. Including Anna Sui, Zang Toi, Viviean Tam, Toshi, Korean Concept, Leather Japan…..and more.

Asian fusion takes you backstage to learn some fascinating beauty secrets from industry leader Estee Lauder. Get up close as a make-up master transforms supermodel Lu Chen before she steps out on the fashion stage. then get ready as Loreal Paris Vichy land in North America to give the perfect skin for 2013.

All this travel and we’re hungry! Japan Restaurant week just ended, but we bring you in the kithchen with three asian food experts. We’ll visit restaurant owners and talk with a cookbook writer…even a chef over in London! Proving once again, East meets West…with no boundaries! Happy Spring!
