Taiwan continues its Leadership in Asian Cruise Tourism

Taiwan Tourism attended Seatrade Cruise Global from March 5 – 8 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center. For more than 30 years, this event has attracted the most influential leaders in the cruise industry.

This year, the Tourism Bureau cooperated with Taiwan International Ports Corp. Ltd. to set up a Taiwan Pavilion at the exhibition site. The Tourism Bureau worked with other members of the Asia Cruise Cooperation(ACC) to help promote Taiwan to more international cruise companies.

In order for Taiwan to continue its leadership in the Asian cruise tourism market, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau has adopted an alliance with tourism promotion agencies in the Asian region as part of its strategy to jointly attract international cruise lines to develop new routes in Asia.

Since 2014, Taiwan Tourism Bureau and the Hong Kong Tourism Board have worked together to successfully include the Philippines, Hainan, Xiamen, and South Korea. Both Taiwan Tourism and Hong Kong Tourism Board believe that international cooperation and expansion of market size will increase the willingness of international cruise companies to invest in and establish new destinations.

This year’s Taiwan Pavillion, jointly developed by the Ministry of Tourism and the Taiwan Port Corporation, presents the concept of “2018 Year of Bay Tourism”, and the diverse cultural landscapes of different port cities in Taiwan, highlighting Taiwan’s excellent geographical location on the Asian cruise route.
