Tuscany Steakhouse

by Joe Meny

Tuscany Steakhouse is an upscale Steakhouse offering steak, classic Italian entrees and cocktails in a refined Mediterranean setting. It’s a beautiful restaurant with white linen tablecloths and typically well-dressed and attentive waiters who ensure their guests have a dining experience that is second-to-none. Tuscany serves up Lunch, Dinner and Drinks, and is located at 117 West 58th St. a block away from Central Park South and just a few steps away from Carnegie Hall.

The ambience is warm and welcoming, complemented by a super nice staff, and a manager, Steve, who ensures the highest standards are maintained, delivering an exquisite dining experience to every single guest. Tuscany Steakhouse owner Steve, and his chef Jaime together have a combined 55 years of restaurant experience.

The dishes are truly amazing, the portions are generous, and the food is cooked to perfection. Having been raised myself raised on steak and potatoes, I unknowingly said to Steve upon taking the last bite of my NY Sirloin steak, what he undoubtedly had heard hundreds of times from other customers, “It was the best steak I had ever had”. Yeah, it really was. My steak was cooked exactly as I had requested (medium well), which only added to a dining experience that exceeded my expectations. Beginning with an appetizer of Baked Clams Oreganato, sides of Sauteed Spinach and Shrimp Scampi, and topped off with two scoops of vanilla ice cream for dessert, from start to finish it was an unforgettable meal.

All the menu choices are impressive, a reflection of Tuscany’s reputation for meals that are beyond delicious. Some of our favorite selections from the menu include, for Appetizers: Fresh Oysters on the half shell, Baked Clams Oreganato, and Lobster cocktail; for Steaks, which are Dry Aged, there’s the Porterhouse steak (for 2, 3, or 4), New York Sirloin, and Bone-in Rib Eye and Filet Mignon; for Seafood and Pasta, there’s the Grilled Yellowfish Tuna, Linguine Seafood, and a Chilean Sea bass. Choices for desserts include Tiramisu, Chocolate Mousse cake, Tartufo, and a Hot Fudge Sundae! Again, these are only selections. We recommend that over time, you (and I!) will visit Tuscany again and again to taste and savor different dishes that will surely not disappoint. In addition to a warm and elegant ambience, Tuscany has a private party room that accommodates up to 25 people and semi-private rooms that accommodate up to 60 people, along with a main dining room and bar area.

Tuscany is a dining gem with a convenient location, that has quickly earned its reputation for being one of the best and finest steakhouses in New York City.
