Ever have that favorite relative at who’s house you always looked forward to having a meal at because the food was always so good? Well, that “relative” with the great food can be found at Uncle Peter’s Restaurant located in Jackson Heights, Queens. Uncle Peter’s is an Italian-Continental (by way of Argentina) restaurant that’s been serving discerning New Yorkers for over 25 years. Owned by the Medina family, led by Ernesto Medina, since it’s earlier location on Roosevelt Ave., Uncle Peter’s serves up a can’t miss menu of appetizers, main courses, and irresistible desserts. It’s here that you will find the freshest fish, seafood, supple homemade pastas, hearty meat dishes, and buttery steaks (sourced from new Zealand), all prepared to order 7 days a week.
Friends, couples, (singles too!), and families will feel right at home here as they receive personal, friendly, and professional attention from the staff. Walk in to Uncle Peter’s, and you’ll be immediately impressed with the natural wood floors, beautifully aged exposed brick walls, and a dining room with tables covered with white linen tablecloths. At Uncle Peter’s you’ll find wonderful meals to suit all tastes and appetites.
Recommended dishes include the seafood salad, Atlantic Salmon Mediterranean, and the gaucho-style sirloin. The grilled Cornish hen comes right off the bone and comes dressed with a balsamic reduction. Pasta lovers will enjoy their meal with a side of medallions of chicken rolled into spirals filled with vegetables and mozzarella. An absolutely amazing roasted baby rack of lamb comes finished in a rosemary and white wine sauce – tender and full of flavor!
And of course, your dining experience wouldn’t be complete without choosing a selection from Uncle Peter’s heavenly dessert menu. Satisfy your sweet tooth with the rich chocolate cake, or try their simply wonderful bread pudding. The chef ’s specialty, pears in red wine sauce, is, simply put, “out of this world”. And their light and fruity sorbets are the perfect choice to refresh and cleanse the palate.
An extremely worthy alternative to what tends to be over-priced (and sometimes overrated) Manhattan dining, at Uncle Peter’s you’re sure to find the quality of the food and the standard of service to be extremely high. Ernesto has clearly left his imprint on the amazing interpretations of Italian cuisine that is served up 7 days a week at Uncle Peter’s.
